Jeet Kune Do Seminar October 2013 | Sifu Mark Stewart International Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do, also known as the Way of the Intercepting Fist, is the fighting philosophy that was founded by the late Bruce Lee.

This October, Sifu Mark Stewart of International Jeet Kune Do (Ted Lucaylucay & Ted Wong Lineage) will be here in Singapore to conduct a two-day seminar on JKD.

This seminar focuses primarily on imparting the fighting tactics, training methods and core concepts from Jeet Kune Do.

Participants will experience the following:

1. Complete beginners will be introduced to the art and will be given a thorough walk through of the tools and techniques used in JKD.

2. Intermediate and advanced JKD practitioners will be taught how to utilize specific sparring-based drills to develop the "5 Ways of Attack" outlined in JKD, plus Long, Middle and Close Range Tactics as well as Striking, Trapping and Grappling.

3. Participants will learn the approach to combat that JKD has as well as it significant differences when compared to other styles and systems.

4. Participants will be taught training methods that will develop specific attributes and qualities that are vital to the JKD approach.

5. Participants will experience and learn correct structure, balance, alignment, explosiveness, recovery, mobility, mass accelerated movement, spacial and tactile awareness and sensitivity, adaptability and the emphasis of "think hit".

6. Participants will learn the legal implications of self defense through the legal force continuum and impact factors. This knowledge is a must for any serious martial artist that may face the reality of self defense. (NOTE: Mark Stewart is a long time Defensive Tactics Instructor that has taught Singapore (ICA) Immigration Checkpoints Authority and Changi Prison SPEAR Team as well as individual FBI, US Navy SEAL and US Navy Demolition Team Members)

About Sifu Mark Stewart:

Sifu Stewart is a world-renowned Jeet Kune Do practitioner of the Ted Lucaylucay & Ted Wong Lineage. He has taught throughout the world in countries such as Japan, France, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Canada and the USA. He has a competitive international kickboxing record of 15-5-1. Mark Stewart is a former Karate Champion and 1992 Grand Champion in the Great Lakes Region of the USA.

3. As this seminar focuses on sparring-related drills, participants are required to bring along their own focus mitts and gloves.

4. There will be plenty of perspiration, so please bring along enough water, a towel and an extra set of clothes to ensure hygiene. Be in your regular gym attire and wear shoes.

5. The right of admission is reserved. In particular, we reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the event any persons who are drunk or disorderly or whose conduct is unlawful or offensive or who is not entitled to attend the event. Any person who causes a disturbance or who refuses to comply with reasonable requests from our hosting team may be removed from the event.
