He knows how to break down the techniques into simple steps for his students to follow. In 2009, I was certified as an IJKD instructor by Sifu Mark Stewart under the lineage of Sigong Ted Wong, Bruce Lee’s protégé.

My wrestling training start in 2011 under Wrestling Federation Singapore. Wrestling training not only help my strength and fitness levels it also help me feel comfortable in close range fight. Thus it help me sense my opponent's energy gaining control of my opponent's tipping the his center of gravity in order to complete a high amplitude takedown.

I have also trained for many years with my JKD senior Ernest Wong. Our training is focused on applying JKD for Reality Based Self Defense (RBSD).

In 2013, I attended Sifu Tommy Carruther’s Singapore seminar. In May 2014, I went to Sifu Tommy’s 7 day JKD camp at the Basement in Glasgow Scotland. The training was excellent and I learnt a lot of realistic street fighting techniques using cutting edge training drills. Sifu Tommy’s JKD is focused on street fighting.

In Oct 2014, I was recognised as Tommy Carruthers' official group leader in Singapore teaching Tommy's JKD, thus Tommy Carruthers JKD IFO SG: Nico Yeo training group was form.

Currently I teach Jeet Kune Do that is focused on street fighting. There are some other JKD instructors who focus on fighting in the ring with rules. If you are looking for training to improve your skills for MMA competitions, please don’t sign up with me as I only teach street fighting without rules.
